In early October, the social inventory of five major types of steel in over 20 cities was 9.46 million tons, an increase of 440,000 tons year-on-year, or 4.9%. The inventory turned from a decline to an increase. It increased by 2.87 million tons compared with the beginning of this year, rising by 43.6%. It increased by 1.83 million tons compared with the same period of the previous year, rising by 24.0%.
In the first ten days of October, by region, the social inventory of steel in the seven major regions rose except for a slight decrease in the Northeast region compared with the previous month. Among them, the southwest region saw the largest increase.
In the first ten days of October, the social inventories of the five major types of steel all rose month-on-month, among which the incretices of Rebar and hot-rolled coil were relatively large. Year-on-year, except for the inventory of hot-rolled coil remaining stable, the inventories of other varieties all increased, among which rebar was the variety with the largest increase and rise.
