What Happened?
Shares of technology real estate company Offerpad (NYSE:OPAD) jumped 4.1% in the after-market session after S&P Dow Jones Indices announced that its national home price index climbed 1.9% year over year in July 2026, improving from a 1.6% increase in June.
According to S&P Dow Jones Indices, the S&P Cotality Case-Shiller Index recorded an annual gain in July 2026. According to the report, the 1.9% year-over-year increase demonstrated an acceleration in home price growth compared to the 1.6% annual rise recorded in the previous month of June. According to the report, the index data reflects improving annual price trends across the national housing market.
Contributing to the optimism, U.S. Treasury yields paused their run-up following a climb to near two-decade highs. AP News reported that the benchmark 10-year Treasury yield eased to about 5.24% after reaching 5.27% in the previous trading session. According to the report, global shares were mixed as oil prices stabilized following previous dips on Wall Street. Treasury yields, which reflect the return investors receive on government debt securities, serve as a benchmark for borrowing costs across financial markets. When yields pull back from multi-decade peaks, it can ease valuation pressure on equities and reduce broader financing cost concerns for publicly traded corporations.
After the initial pop, the shares cooled down to $3.37, up 2.3% from the previous close.
